While I’m writing this article, I can’t decide or think on what topic I will write. Suddenly, when I look outside the window I saw three kids sitting on street corner gutter. And I realize and have flashback memories of my childhood. I and my playmates always had the “ultra fantastic mega greatest debate of all time”. I’m sure you also experienced those childhood debate where you heard the most astonishing lines.

“Weh, di kaya!” (Woo, not like that!)
“Wala yan sa Papa ko! Wala yan sa Lolo ko!” (That’s no match with my Father/ Grandfather!)
“Mali ka naman Lon eh! Ganito kaya ginawa niya!” (You’re dead wrong Lon! He did it this way!)
“Konti kaya nyan Lon! Samen madaming madaming 10000x (insert item here)!” (You got few Lon; we got so many 1000x (insert item here)!”

Sound familiar, eh?

And we will hear all the legendary kinds of stuff to be the greatest debate master of all time.  I think you experienced it. Another one will be like these lines.

“Abot langit! Walang katapusan!” (Heavens reached! Infinite!)

After these relentless debates we will get tired and play again our favorite games; taguan, black 1-2-3 yung may palagan at save-an, langit-lupa yung may dangkalan at sungkitan, Dr. KWAK KWAK ”ouch!”, tumbang preso, patintero. Yeah! I’m a certified batang-kalye (street kid player)!

Wondering back to the debates, there was a time when I and my childhood buddy Jomar and some friends had the “ultra fantastic mega greatest debate of all time”. And our topic was none other than money, who got the most money, yes who got the most money even though piso or dos (a peso or two pesos) is the only money we got. I’m sure you know these lines, “Ma/Pa, penge po piso/dos.”(Ma/Pa can I have a peso/two peso.”  We got piso for Bazooka bubble gum, Moby, lechon manok, lechon baboy, pintoora, and other precious stuff; and dos for the “tatlo dos na candy”, crinkles, ice cand, sago, and so on! And you are the big time if you got the golden, shining, shimmering “limang pisong buo” (five peso coin)!

Returning to the precious time debates; I and my friends got all the tag lines, trashtalk, and rebuttal just to prove who got the “Abot langit! Walang katapusan!” money.

“Meron akong one hundred million, one thousand, one billion, dollars, dollars, madaming, madaming, madaming, one million, sobrang daming pera, walang katapusan! Gold! Gold! Abot langit na pera! PERIOD! PERIOD! PERIOD! NO ERASE! KROSMAYHART! PEKSMAN! MAMATAY MAN! ABOT LANGIT WALANG! KATAPUSAN!” (1,000,000,000 times)

We got those lines in many variations plus the facial expression of eyes closed, hands going to nowhere, lungs bursting, rotten teetch exposed and shouting to the top our voices just to let my opponent debate master that we got the money. “Abot langit! Walang katapusan!”

Oooh! What a childhood experience and memories!

Moving on in these moments of my professional years, I wonder and think why I really need money (with the background of the gang of kids playing and yelling outside the house). I experienced the best days of my life and surely will have the best of the best’s days of my life. Years from now I know I will settle down, have my dream house and cars, have the travels and events, help my aging parents, help my siblings, help my relatives, get married with the dream wedding, have the most beautiful wife that no one can ever be match except me (you know who you are), have a perfect family, have awesome kids, be an epic father, be a great husband and so on. Surely, these days will come and during these days I want to also to serve God and fulfill His mission. (As of these moments the kids are yelling the famous tag line “Ayawan na! Ayawan na!”)

And it hit me as someone inside me says, “Charlon, I need the “abot langit money” (heavens reached money). Because I love God, I will bring back and offer all my money to God to reach the heavens. I will offer all my hard-earned money to God so that it will be the “abot langit money”. I will offer it by serving my family, the needy, His people. I will use my money to help, and show my love to the people around me. I will offer it with my abot langit na pag-ibig” (heavens reached love), because all of my dreams are rooted in love. Not that I love money but I love my family, my relationship with them will surely affect with my finances. What if one of my loved ones got hospitalized and I got no money to cover the hospital bills? What if? In life, there too many what if’s, what If I die too soon, what if I live too long? Do I have the money to inherit to them when I’m gone? I’m dreaming of travelling, travelling from Batanes to Jolo to abroad. I don’t want to travel alone but I want to travel with my loved ones.

With my “abot langit money” I want to express my “abot langit na pag-ibig” to my family and loved ones. I’m dreaming, yes I’m dreaming, by dreaming it gives me great hopes and enthusiasm to strive and perform in my top form and level.

And I believe in myself and I have this faith in God, that offering to Him my “abot langit na pag-ibig” (heavens reached love) is nothing compared to His “Walang katapusan na pag-ibig!” (infinite love).

I have a faith because God knows that the purpose of my “abot langit money” is my “abot langit na pag-ibig” for my family and in Him. I believe that my dreams in my family and finances will be blessed with his “Walang katapusan pera” and his Walang katapusan pag-ibig!”.

I’m dreaming of my “Abot langit! Walang katapusan!” dreams and I’m sure God will answer this with his “Abot langit! Walang katapusan!” blessings.

Right now, I’m happy and blessed because I have the two best business partners in the world, my girlfriend and God. And I got the best mentors in the planet, I am mentored by Bro. Bo Sanchez’ TrulyRich Makers Team

Is Money Evil?

Looking through the window of our office, I saw some black birds flying around the company building. I appreciated their beauty and gazed at them for a while. I found them sweet, and imagined they are singing for me. Then one of my officemates commented, “Nakakatakot yung mga ibon, ano? Parang pang horror sila.” (Those birds are creepy, aren’t they? Just like in horror movies.) I was shocked upon hearing him! I was surprised to know how negative his thoughts about the lovely birds were.

I believe that every one of us has different opinions. I believe that each person forms thought in different ways. We interpret what our eyes see differently, just like me and my officemate upon seeing the black birds.

When it comes to money, people have different views and opinions too. Some might see money as "creepy creatures" believing that they may go bad when they have lots of money. Some might see money as blessings and aspire to have much so they could give more.

Some might find it uninteresting to have lots of money and become rich. Some might want to be rich so they can buy anything they wish for.

Do you believe that money is evil?

They say that money is the root of all evil. Perhaps true. Most crimes today (even in the histories) are connected with money – robbery, kidnap, hold-up. But is it really the money that makes the world go worse?

Think this.

Man robs because he needs money. Gang kidnaps a businessman’s son because they need money. People commit crime because they need money. They need money because they lack money.

Brother Bo Sanchez said that the lack of money is the root of all evil.

This belief is better than the old one. If only all people have enough money, they might not commit those crimes.

I personally believe that money is not really evil. It’s the wrong action that makes the money evil.

Do you believe money is good?

If money isn’t evil, then does it mean money is good?

I believe that money just reflect its owner. We cannot really conclude that money is evil or an angel.

Let me give you some scenarios.

A good man wants to give big amount of cash for his new ministry so he cheated on his taxes. Do you think this makes money good? Absolutely not! He has a good purpose, but his way of earning the money for his ministry is bad.

A young guy is working diligently to earn hot cash. He is honest on his job. He was inspired to earn more because he wanted to join his friends on night clubs, which his friends describe as “heaven”. He had a decent way of earning extra money, but his purpose was bad. That wouldn’t make money good either.

Money will only be good if only it is used for good things, and is earned in a decent way.

Good purpose + decent way of earning = good money

Do you believe that money can buy love?

Money can’t buy true love, but money can deepen your love to someone.

That’s my opinion.

Truly, two persons that love each other will make it through thick and thin. They can live with or without money. But I believe that if you have more money, you can enjoy life better with each other’s company.

With the money you have, you can travel around the globe, cruise the seven lovely seas, or have a romantic dinner in an exclusive yacht. Those I mentioned are just earthly things you can do with your loved ones, but you are doing those because your purpose is love.

Oh, love is not just limited to couples.

You can also show your love to other people through money by means of sharing. You can treat your family on a Boracay trip where you can have bonding and will deepen your love for each other. You may also throw party or attend an expensive concert of your favorite band with your best friends so you can share moment together and will make your friendship stronger.

Or the best, you can share your money to the poor, finance their education and help them stand on their own.

Money cannot buy love, but it can help you express your love.

What is your reason why you need money?

Is your reason good?

Is your reason love?

I am sure that you have your personal reasons why you want to become rich. I believe that behind your desire of becoming rich are the people you love, and they are your inspiration why you get up each morning to strive for a better life.

If your reason of becoming rich is your family, then go for it! Don’t let anyone or anything steal your love for them!

Always keep in mind that there is nothing wrong with dreaming of becoming rich if you have a good purpose and a good way of achieving that dream!

I was inspired by Bro. Bo Sanchez' team and was able to change my mindset about money.

May you become truly rich so you can spread more love to others!
